Someone I would consider a friend literally believes that ISIS is funded by the CIA and Mossad. They genuinely believe that the beheading of a UK citizen was conducted by Jewish undercover agents. I'm not making that up, that is a genuine conversation I have had.

I agree that our discussions have been productive but I've actually spoken to elements of the UK muslim community in mine, it's not completely theoretical in my approach. Admittedly we were smoking joints when I gained this information, and I pretended to be more sympathetic than I actually was when we discussed this. I don't know if this goes to mosque level or is entirely generated online but I have actually done some ground work on this just out of natural friendships that I have had.

I believe these views are reasonably widespread amoung muslim youth in the UK which would support the numbers going to join ISIS over the years. Before you ask I have never recoreded anything or heard anything that I would consider going to the authorities with, I am very much a free speech advocate and nothing I heard I belived consituted a terror threat. I don't believe anyone I am/was friends with or made an acquaintance with would commit a terror attack within the UK or abroad, which is also what makes me believe these views are widely shared.

The Nazis used to be huge harborors of anti-semetic thought and conspiracies, I would say on my experience and personal belief that Pakistani Sunni are now world leaders in that regard.

I've spoken to Muslims too, Dank. Neither of our anecdotal evidence is worth all that much and it's not very open-minded to assume that anyone who disagrees with you hasn't spoken to any Muslims.

Quite alarming how quickly the officer discharged that taser. i watched it back and the second time it's clearly set off by someone who isn't capable of her job, tbh. I don't think someone who would use a taser in a situation like that should be anywhere near her job.

Clear issues of racism around them stopping a guy going about his daily business, likely racism in how they then deal with him and possibly in the panicked use of a taser on a 63 year old man.

It's quite disturbing reading some of the inaccurate comments on here about the UK muslim community. It's damaging for us when we try to get our stories out to mainstream society.

And don't just look at that survey. Even someone like Mehdi Hasan decries the utterly unbelievable conspiracy theories held by so, so, so many Western Muslims. Many of whom think ISIS was created by the US, Israel, or both - and when he lambasted this nonsense on his Facebook page, cue practically all his followers attacking him and reeling off more disgusting gibberish.

There is, incidentally, zero difference between those who think Israel are magically pulling the strings of everything that's wrong in the world, and those who, throughout history, spouted bigoted, racist claptrap about "international Jewish conspiracies". Zero difference. Which is a reminder of why Israel's continued existence is necessary and extremely important.
