I don't get why she wouldn't do it. Surely the best way to diffuse the whole debate no-show issue would be to turn up and go "shut up m8s, here I am".

I'm inclined to agree. Albeit: after the show with Paxman on Monday, she actually stayed and chatted with the audience. Something's gone really wrong since.

The British public are cretins who vote for lies on buses, but one thing they don't like is being openly treated with contempt like this. It's no wonder this nonsense has led to the arse out of the polls collapsing for her. She doesn't deserve to win and if there's any justice, she won't (she 99% certainly will). It's a sad state of affairs when the prospect of Diane Abbott in one of the four Great Offices is the palatable choice

Doubt there's anything wrong with her, she's fucked up by saying she was doing no debates but doesn't want to give folk the ammunition to call out another u turn
