While Robbo and Mrs Budge are pouring bevvy over each other and it's generally taps aff scenes all round, Mr Neilson is away on a coaching course in Stirling.

It is hilarious that he has done that, but on a boring note, that is exactly why we have run away with the league. We have a model professional in charge who sets an amazing example to the young boys. Compare that to McCoist getting his players to pelt him on the bare arse with the ball after training. Fair play to the players for buying in - we've seen at Hibs that they don't always play along with being asked to show some professionalism - but it's come straight from the mentality that Mr Neilson has instilled.

Has much actually changed from towards the end of last season when Locke had hearts playing really well?

Robbie's done unbelievably well, and the fact that he's working today is typical of his attitude - totally agree that this is exactly the sort of thing that was enabled us to skoosh the league in the way that we have.

I agree with your general comments, however this thing about Neilson going to this coaching course is getting blown way out of proportion.

He no doubt agreed to this course believing there was little chance we would be picking up the title so soon.

He can't just say to the organisers a week before the course is due and go "Hey, m8s, the Hibs V Rangers game is on SkySports3 that day, is it cool if you just scrub me off the list and waste hundreds of pounds of the clubs money?"

Does anyone ever think back to the 05/06 season when we used to watch Robbie punt the ball a mile infront of himself and chase it all day with his fucked up running style? Who would have thought this would happen Laugh

Coisty would have been in Club Deck lining up the Skittle Bombs m9. The fact he even signed up for this course the day after a game at a crucial time of the season shows the work he's putting in. His Mrs must be delighted Warnock

The fact Neilson made a career as a professional, with an international cap Warnock , with such modest talent showed he`s always had a high level of professionalism and work ethic. That isn`t to say I, or anyone else, anticipated he`d do so well in management of course but it often seems to less talented players who do well in coaching/management after their playing careers are over.

In many ways he's similar to pressley who made the best of what he had and has a philosophy of 'self-improvement'. Problem is elvis is an egotistical cunt who thinks referring to himself in the third person counts as introspection, and is therefore a dreadful manager Robbie isn't.

Stephen Simmons said on that Peter and Roughie show a few weeks ago that he's totally different to what he's like on camera.

Sometimes it would be nice if he'd open up a bit and give a bit more detail cos his interviews are skull crushingly boring.

I think it's sort of similar to mourinho. if one of his players fucks up he'll say something outrageous and the newspapers will focus on mourinho and the player can be left to get on with it. In robbie's case nothing much is going very wrong so it's just a case of being as boring as possible to maintain a low profile in the media. He doesnt need to communicate with his players through the newspapers and am sure he can have a joke/cuddle/roasting to players as appropriate.

If I were a manager I imagine I'd feel the same way as I expect him to feel: that media interviews are to be endured and disposed of with a minimum of fuss each time. Hence being the dullest man in the world.

Good for him - I totally echo the post above about what his work ethic must be. Can easily see him moving on to far bigger and better things in the future.

I actually wonder whether club chairmen across the country will now be demanding more from their managers/coaches, and players because of Robbie.
