Been arsing mince pies for a good six weeks now, and won't be stopping anytime soon.
I'd shy away from the iced ones as they tend to detract from the more traditional taste of the pies. Will probably have a go a some of the family recipes for clootie dumpling and trifle this year.

Burd put the tree up last Sunday.
Fully behind that decision.

Are folks putting up real or fake trees? We've always used an artificial tree, for obvious reasons but love the smell of a real tree. Any suggestions as to where I might get a real, smelly (Xmas) tree. Don't particularly want to get on the bus with it so while Asda does have potted ones that smell of mild sweat I'll reluctantly go through the red neck of public transport.

Fakey, can't be arsed with the hassle of a real tree.

Pozzies for real trees, neggies for fake (full-size) trees. It's that simple.

Make sure you put a bit of water at the bottom of your real trees, especially if you are putting them up now

Got a real tree the last couple of years but gone for a fake 7 foot effort this year, taking delivery of it today
