Brian McClair has been mentioned quite a few times, haven't really followed his career too closely but from what I know of it he sounds like the right sort of appointment.
If it's Takis though Genuinely delete every post on here that criticises Budge if she makes it happen.

McLair is a shout actually. He has been the name every time this comes up.

He's involved with England 21's I think so yeah it's maybe a stretch to think he'd leave that given the profile and I'm sure the package that provides. But who knows, difficult to understand others motivations sometimes, DoF of Hearts would be a big job done properly.
To be honest the British ex player criteria really narrows the field to a very very small list of suitable candidates. It's easier to think of foreign ex players that would fit the bill for that particular role.
