And don't forget the looks of amazement/mild irritation on each one of the porters as they were whipped round by the bad guys trying to nab Grant. Must have shot a good half dozen of them, each giving their 1950s wtf! Laugh

Its the third Hitchcock movie I've recently watched (Vertigo & Psycho) and I'm not really sure what to make of them tbqh. I mean they look great but seem dated, if that makes any sense. Maybe I need to watch them again. Probably won't though. Monty Oh Well

Hard to tell if these films are really good or if you're just wrapped in nostalgia's warm blanket  Levein Chin

I love Jimmy Stewart and I recently watched Rear Window again. As good as it is, there's some complete shite throughout. Don't even get me started on the bit where falls in his jim jams! Comical Ally

Parasite - 9/10

Very enjoyable Quite Good Can see why it was so well received.

American Murder - 3/10

Very by-the-numbers Netflix crime documentary. Weren't people on here raving about it when it came out? Wiggo Don't really feel like it said anything until the very very end.

May have contained spoilers but it won't stop you wishing you hadn't actually watched this film. Truth be told it was okaaay.

I mean it's not a new story by any means, you'll have seen its like before, essentially the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Greenland was pretty good.

Never understood why the directors have to force an actor to use a fake accent. It wouldn't have made any difference to the story for Butler to have been Irish Scottish.

Sorry We Missed You - pretty bleak, maybe overly didactic at times, but a good film. Currently free on Amazon Prime, which feels a bit ironic under the circumstances.

Breathless, 1960
6/10
Not really much of a story, certainly imo but more a glorified film school project, albeit one that generally looks great, well from when the cops are proper onto him. The nightime footage is GodIsGod

If you like a smoke in a movie this one's for you.

e: The lower score was more to do with the storyline; as I said it looked great. Can't make up my mind if the whimsical characters added to my enjoyment or trolled me, probably a bit of both tbh.

Something about Jean Seberg in this too. At first you think she's just a bit ordinary 9talking about looks) but then she seems to get more attractive as you get to know her, though of course you don't really find out too much about her really, which is also the case with Belmundo's character.

That's pretty much the way of it in the Nouvelle Vague tbf Laugh It is all style over substance, but I absolutely love it. Truffaut's movies are a bit more focused on the narrative and you'd maybe enjoy them more - Jules et Jim and Les Quatres Cents Coups are his best IMO, worth checking out if you enjoyed the style enough to watch more.
