They are now going to self isolate. Be good when we look back for the pandemic lessons learned

Would've thought he'd be busting a gut to shut himself away for 10 days or whatever it is.

Wouldn't be locking him away for any length of time with a child

The same happened last year and they ultimately proved there were zero outbreaks linked to people going to the beach. Besides the fact that going to a beach as busy as that would be crap at any time, there's nothing wrong with people being there.

From the dodgy experience here, it is the opening of nightlcubs for young people that will send things into a spiral. Theoretically, if everyone is at the beach instead of the bars, then it's a win.

Surely as long as they're outside and keeping to their own groups then there isn't an issue? Sure from a different angle there's a bit more space between the groups than there looks in that photo as well.

If the science says it's safe to gather in those numbers outside because the risk of transmission outdoors is minimal then stadiums should be at 100% capacity

Problem with stadiums is there are parts where you have to be 'inside' on concourses but there has to be more than this 2000 shite.

We've just had a major European tournament where Scotland had 2 games at hampden, why not then?
![]() Don't really understand why we've had all these strict restrictions continue for businesses with outdoor facilities when a free for all down the beach is sound. Folk doing events having to jump through hoops to get things put on and not having much luck tbf, leaving thousands without work because there's a real reluctance to power on with this stuff. Fwiw im not criticising folk going to the beach if it's shown to be safe, just frustrating that the “minimal outdoor transmission†line seems to be held in higher regard towards some things rather than others.

You can manage that though, you could even have temporary entrances having people enter from the corners of the stand and up from the pitch if that was really the big stumbling block. It just takes a bit of planning and dedicating a bit more time at the start and end of the match to crowd control. There's events my mates do that are 100% all outdoors with no hassles of having to manage concourses etc that are getting cancelled still. Summer should be the busiest year for this sort of stuff so it's going to be pretty much 2 years of absolutely nothing when we heard in February from the scientists that transmission is near enough non existent outside.

That would make anything you need to do with routing people differently a lot more manageable. Going to a gig in august will be interesting to see how that is planned out. I think they sold the tickets in “bubbles†so you had to buy a group of 1/2/3/4 etc depending on how many were going. Quite looking forward to the table service with drinks during it but think it might be a bit pish with seating/being split up from others. |
