In ruken Glen? Double of your wee dog with a wee coat on. Wasn't sure if you were local to the area.

Na, not me. I had him out around town this morning and at lunch. Taking him to Glasgow Green later.

Would've thought that the lack of falsetto squeals of 'Hoooooooovis!' would've made it obvious it wasn't Walter. Shitwine

+3 on anti Jack Russell front. When I was a kid, I had a long haired German Shepard called Ben who was the best dug that I've ever owned, he was always good on and off the lead until a nasty wee Jack Russell bastard had a nip at his tail up the Cathkin Braes.

After that he hated wee dugs and would always want to go and square go them.

They are like evil giant rats.

Starting to have issues walking the dog.

Sometimes she is fine, but recently she's been stopping every 30 seconds and just doesn't want to walk anywhere.

is it just this shan weather or what? Any tips on how to get her moving?

I think you just have to be tough and just start to walk away, it will quickly follow when it realises it's the only option.  I got into a bad habit of picking the dog up which he then expected every time.

Might seem harsh but you just need to almost drag them round a bit if they're on the lead or like Chrambo says just walk away so they get used to it and realise they need to keep walking with you.

Some dogs aren't as keen on walks as others either though, so wouldn't get too worried about it.

Took the dog I watch off the lead in Princes St Gardens on Monday and the little prick thought it was a game when I was trying to catch him to put it back on Muggy

Genuinely had to chase him around the place for half an hour before I managed to fool him with a treat.

I've been dragging her to the point she's choking at times Eek

As soon as she knows we are on the way home though the wee fucker couldn't walk any better Warnock

It must be brutal being introduced to the outdoors in constant rain/wind/darkness I suppose.

Get a harness mate. Got one for mine, so on the occasions I do have him on the lead, it doesn't choke him. He also walked better with it when we were training him. He didn't pull as much.

Sounds like one of my dogs, she lags so far behind it's ridiculous when you're out on walks but when she realises we're on the way back she's right to the front. Think the weather is definitely a factor but she's a lazy little shit at the best of times so you might just have a dog that doesn't like walks Laugh

I know those feels, though the current problem is he wants to run and is straining against the lead. Have to stop every 1 or 2 metres and turn around, make him sit, then turn and continue. He's then chomping at the bit again and straining to get going again. When he walks to heel or a loose lead it's class but then someone or something will excite him and then he wants to run about again. I know he really loves to run, so getting him to the park and then running is the best thing to do, but even coming back he's trying to sprint ahead. Little fucker. Warnock

You could look at getting a sighthound type collar, the tapered ones. Got a really nice whippet collar which spreads the pressure on the neck so it doesn't 'choke' as they have long and very strong necks so you need to be careful.

Only £9 http://www.blackdogtrading.co.uk/product...id318.html Didn't go for a coursing slip though. Eek

Had him ready to go one friday when the weather was wild. I got downstairs to the door and he stepped out, looked around and then sat down and refused to budge. I was secretly delighted as I went back in and opened a beer. Laugh

Don't drag the dog. It'll resist and think it's a tuggy game. Wait till the dog walks and then praise it. It'll grow out of it that way.

I try not to drag but when it's pissing rain and she's not moved in 5 minutes it's Fat Cunt

Going to get a harness tonight I think, read they are good for reluctant dogs. No issues with joints or anything like that wearing one?

It's another good day to be a cat owner. Enjoy walkies tonight. Greggy
