I could never quite get into HoI 3, loved the idea of it but just found it really inaccessible though I might try HoI 4 if I can get it for a decent price in the steam sale. Not all that keen on Stellaris, I prefer historical strategy games and can never really get into space/future settings (quickly lost interest in Beyond Earth for that reason).

More EU4 stuff:

I restarted my Brandenburg game and actually managed to form Prussia and went full proddy Quite Good

but Poland fell out with me over Danzig and my Prussian space marines couldn't hold back the waves of Pole-Lith forces, I'd win battle after battle but they just kept coming and ground me into dust. With 0 manpower, an arse load of debt and the loss of Danizg, Denmark declared war on me and I gave up. Monty Oh Well

Paradox games love to pile on the misery when you make a mistake and there's no reverting to an old save if you do.

I'm now playing as Poland, I formed the Commonwealth with Lithuania, allied with Austria and Russia before getting sucked into a massive war over the Holy Roman Empire which saw me on the other side of Russia. It was like the World War One of 16th century Europe, everyone was on one side or another, I let Austria do the heavy lifting in central Europe and pummeled Russia into submission. Alas, with both kebab and baguette on the other side defeat was inevitable but I managed to come out of it without draining my manpower or losing any money or territory. After peace, I turned my attention east and beat Russia in a couple of wars, their manpower is insane but a useful alliance with Sweden saw victory in both wars (albeit now quite as total as I'd hoped). I'm now gearing up for a third war with them GodIsGod

I've got EU4 but I've never really put the time in to get into it, going to give it another go after I wrap up this game. 1403, no other colours on the board, just a mind-numbingly boring 50 years until game end. The early game when a random roll of the dice can totally fuck you up is 100% the best part Piggy

I agree on HoI, found them difficult to get in to. I've seen 4 played at a mates and it looked not bad, think I will probably get it if it's on sale but I'm pretty consumed with FM at the moment (that and the 10-15 hours of dota a week).

I got Stellaris as a random buy because I'd heard good things, was obsessed with it for about 4-5 weeks then hadn't played it for ages. I got an online game going with a few mates and that is next level good, we were on that having 3-4 hour sessions. It's maybe not as gruelling as EU or HoI but it's pretty fun, I'm not usually a space guy either but I did enjoy this one.

Sammon is the biggest earner at the club as well Warnock

Have Hearts been set up wrongly on the game? I can only offer £450 p/w

Which doesn't make sense when Sammon is on £4k.

I'm 3rd in the league after ten games but might have to leave Hearts at end of the season if this carries on.
