I wasn't making a point about independence, I was referring to a post I made earlier in the thread about banks leaving London due to Brexit. I was told these were "lies and fearmongering" when anyone who has been paying attention knows various banks are looking at relocating.

But in response to your point; are you suggesting that Westminster's continual failed policies, including ripping Scotland out of the European Union against its will encourages people to reject independence? Funny that british nationalists (not necessarily yourself) fixate on the SNP's drive for independence; the opportunities to kick things into the long grass were all there in 2014, the Vow, continued EU citizenship and so on. Instead we got EVEL, Brexit, military bases, HMRC & DWP office closures. If you think these things, along with the age demographics and the likelihood of a substantial majority of EU citizens now voting Yes in Indyref2, make independence less likely, then fair enough. It'll just be another position you'll have to backflip on.

That would appeal to young folk who want to go travelling etc, but wouldn't appeal to Leave's core racist/m***o/English vote. Basically swapping Poles for folk from the West Indies

Main one I'll go for is that you're clearly not bright enough to see the difference between being opposed to immigration and being racist. One of the major arguments against mass immigration is that it makes assimilation less likely and creates a culture divide - given the shared language and cultural similarities between Britain and the West Indies, I think it's a decent bet that immigration sceptics would favour immigration from the West Indies over places in Eastern Europe with different languages and heritages.

Maybe not though because the English all hate browns!!   (You hear this surprisingly often from #the45, even though they live in one of the whitest countries in the world. )

Anyone who didn't only start paying attention on 23rd June would have known that banks have been in the process of relocating from the traditional hubs since long before it, but Brexit has been a nice way to break the news in a 'softly softly' manner rather than having to announce mass redundancies purely due to poor performances.

I love London, but I think you are a little too London -centric when it comes to your views on English people's thoughts on immigration. Im not interested in calling folk racists/brown haters ok, but it's plain that immigration is not what people want in England overall right now. inviting half the "third world" nations wouldn't go down well.

I think Scotland is broadly a welcoming nation, but every country including Scotland will have a time when they feel "enough is enough" usually through periods of economic hardship. It can't be denied that England overall is there. I won't overly judge because they have experienced way more negative effects of immigration than Scotland. I've not lived a mile in their shoes.
