Not really sure what qualifies them to be coaches but got to trust the guys in charge of recruitment.

Under 17s is surely a pretty important age where you start to properly look at players who have a real chance for the future. Not sure the current qots captain who will split his time between both and has had no coaching experience is a good fit for the job.

Inb4 criticising the club for anything but can't help but feel this is one of the issues holding Scottish football back. Unqualified coaches getting jobs at youth level because they're pals with the manager.

I liked Carrick as a player, just had some horrendous luck with injuries and is now sliding down the leagues so it makes sense that he's looking to his future already. No idea if that will translate to a successful coaching career though.

I think the Carrick move is a decent idea. In general 14 year olds are little cunts and would probably be more responsive to a guy closer to their age who they've recently seen playing in the first team
