Kingsman 2

7/10. Not as good as the first but a good effort for a sequel. Elton John Zlat

American Assasin

Shite, this film is aimed at folk who like seagal/chuck norris/jcvd films, plenty fighting, the female lead Shiva Negar is very easy on the eye!

Caught IT last night. Creepy all round but not that scary, more of a coming of age movie. Kid actors were all very good.

They Live - 10/10. One of the best films of the eighties. John Carpenter was an incredible director back in the day.

Inception (fell asleep but woke up just before the end) then Assassin's Creed (fell asleep)

So many films let down by unrealistic formulaic violence/fight/flight scenes. Yawn.

Yep, it's absolutely worth a watch if you haven't seen it already.

Went to see Bladerunner last night Quite Good

Probably need to see it again if I was to rate it, because right now I'm not sure.

Stayed true to the original, so it was about 20 minutes too long as well. Pretty faithful reboot/sequel though, some very good scenes in it. Stylistically I thought it was spot on and the performances were strong, Gosling was very good.

The pace of the film would change quite a lot, there are some bits that could do with an edit. I'm sure, like the original, they'll have loads of stuff they've not used so I'll be interested to see what goes out and what comes in.

I would have initially given it a 7/10 as like you I thought it dragged a little in places. Thinking about it since I would probably bump that up to an 8, some of the themes carried forward from the first film were very clever
Roy Batty's tears in rain and Joe's lying/dying in the snow my favourite example
It looked utterly amazing and well worth seeing in IMAX Pretty good

Agreed man, it sounds totally wanky and pretentious but it's something you've really got to sleep on before you know how you feel about it.

I got offered the tickets at short notice, so I didn't do what I should have done and watched the original before I went. I've not seen that in about 8 years or so. I've never been one to go to see a film twice but I genuinely might for this.

Nocturnal Animals
7/10

Also, I watched a bit of Life last night too but frankly got bored. Anyway, I was thinking about the general premise; what we should do if we find life on another planet, in this case something that actually looks living and moves, from Mars. Not some we amoeba like thing you can only see down a microscope but some sort of weird fat slug-starfish hybrid. Monty LewLew

If it doesn't look remotely like us then the wee bastard needs annihilating immediately. If that alien has managed to survive on Mars then it's obviously a hardy wee bassa, and we're no going to mate with it in that state are we, and I'm sure it feels the same about us. I'm no taking any chances as it obviously wants to survive too; why wouldn't it.

I hope these NASA Teefals have this figured out like I do. Monty Smug
