Just finished Breaking Bad - fuck me, that's good!

Just been given a box set of the complete series of Father Ted.

I'm not exactly at the cutting edge.

No 'probably' about it.

Anyone else watch Hostages that was on BBC4? Israeli drama. Pretty decent.

Watching the bridge with the mrs and i'm enjoying it. Looks stunning and it's well paced and there's enough ancillary characters that there are openings for twists as opposed to the usualy scooby doo style mystery where the only new character is the baddy, because they're the only character it could be.

Anyway, things i noted

- swedish/danish are so similar to scots. There are little phrases like "are you coming" (nonsexual) that just sound like someone from aberdeenshire. And their word for good is 'bra', but pronounced braw.
- the main cops are just Lister and Rimmer. She's socially unaware, punctillious and unintentionally hilarious because of this. He's slobby and cynical. I get that this is classic odd-couple characteristics, but her autistic character - good as it is - especially reminds me of Rimmer, even in the way she carries herself.

Cracking through Community again for the start of the new series. That kicked off last night and I'm only on ep 5 of season 5. Anyone who likes telly/sitcoms/humour should absolutely watch Community.

Just caught up with the Americans, one of the best things on just now.

Watched the first episode of the Jinx last night, going to hammer through that to avoid spoilers, had to stay off Twitter yesterday there was so much on it.

Nah it's Yahoo that they're showing it on. Will be available to download or stream from the usual places though.

Maybe i just have high expectations after 30 rock, but kimmy schmidt felt like a let down. It was good. Great at times, but it felt a bit underdeveloped at points

I do wonder if writing the second season exclusively for Netflix will change some of the things they try and do.

It did struggle when they tried to do a story not involving Kimmy, with the exception of the Straight Coach one.

Ironically, 30 rock almost had the other problem as it started off with dozens of possible characters and they slowly wheedled them down until 90% of it was just liz lemon and jack doing life coaching with the occasional tracy jordan madness or hornberger double life gag.

With this, so much of the weight is on kimmy (who is played wonderfully) whilst lots of the rest is kinda paint by numbers. Good, but a scatty landlord, or waspy boss or big fat gay guy aren't mind blowing - unless you've been in a bunker for a few decades.

I've overthought this. I should've just said, "yeah. it's funny. i laughed out loud"
