Israel has been close to the kurds for a while. Think about who Israeli enemies are; Iran, syria etc. Makes a lot of sense, plus the US connnection.

I know a few kurds. One was a peshmarga with a lot of the now leaders. He was telling me about this a while back. Really interesting guy and so many incredible stories.

There was me hoping it was the fact that they were looking out for a stateless people who had been oppressed in every country they'd ever taken up residence, but your reasoning is the reality.
