It's all about delaying as much as possible so the strain is spread. Not just on the health service, but on essential services like gas, leccy, water. And then on secondary and support services. It's in the collective interest that we all avoid infection as long as possible. Getting it over and out the way is only fine if you don't then infect others, but you would and that's where numbers increase exponentially.

I'm not saying cancel your social lives, but maybe opt for a meal out rather than five hours in a hot, crammed pub.

But definitely don't allow 14 kids to run around a football pitch on a beautiful Saturday morning, our first probably since the turn of the year! Fat Cunt

Bonnyrigg Rose released a statement yesterday saying they were told by the SFA, grassroots football was to be taken on a case by case basis. If you're one has been called off, thats the choice of who's running it.

Stopping the kids football is shite like, there's no need for that in my opinion.

Yeah, I read that too - but can they really be sure that's the right percentage when cases are rising exponentially and we don't have any real idea how many people actually have it?

Do we just stop doing these things? How long for? I know everything has to change for a global pandemic, and that part of why we haven't been advised to do these things is because of the UK government's batshit response, but what are they doing in other countries? Is it literally just no social life for however many months it takes to get a vaccine? Seems pointless to be avoiding pubs when I've been at the uni and the gym every day this week, been going to supermarkets, etc?

I think it's just about being sensible and limiting the risk you're posing to others, and that means limiting the amount of unnecessary social contact you have. You get arrested for doing some of those things in Italy right now, and other countries have banned them as well. We are so out of step with the responses elsewhere.

I'm sorry but it's just a few weeks, put your thinking cap on.

Correct. People still aren't really getting this. It's honestly selfish to be actively increasing the chances of you passing it on to others, especially when you're (fairly) young and can have no symptoms for a while.

I woke up choked with the cold this morning - splitting headache, sore throat, shivery. Fucking dancer Heh

I imagine most fit young go-getters like the THF who get it will go through something similar. “Might've been the CV, might've just been a bug, so fuck”

Okay, that makes sense, Jeff. I got the impression from the BBC Scotland bulletins that all football had been suspended but I guess perhaps it came with caveats. Main guy for our age group at our club did say (when he passed on the info) that he didn't particularly agree with the club's decision on a personal basis but that obviously that was the direction they were taking. I wasn't sure if was specifically aimed at training sessions, which I can see being a bit more problematic because of the frequency and the increased numbers, or training and weekend games. I'd agree with a suspension of training but feel weekly games could continue as long as schools remain open (kids who are sick shouldn't however be playing, pretty much as per usual).

The distinct lack of consistent information is a bit concerning. I've an underlying health condition (no, not the gout. Fuck you Mak), due to B12 Vitamin Deficiency/Pernicious Anaemia. That fucks about with the immune system considerably but the advice, from both Westminster and Holyrood, is 'you should be fine', whereas medical professionals are giving the doomsday scenario that we're all going to die.

Do we have anything in place, to hand over my account for shitposting, when I inevitably croak it?

Don't go to the pub but do travel into the city centre on public transport to work in an open plan office with hundreds of others with shared kitchen facilities etc.?

I don't get the lack of consistency in this approach tbh.

Sky must have all the old footage of the first PL season - they should just stick the 1992 fixtures on the various channels and the equivalent on SSN. Would do the younger generation good to see mud pitches and first tackles being free APRant

Tynecastle High School were meant to be playing Forresters at Tynecastle in a memorial match for an ex-pupil (ko at 1 - pupils in the changing rooms etc at 12.15). You couldn't hold back Ann Budge as she skipped across McLeod Street to tell them it was off and there was nothing she could do Heh
