Can't blame anyone for those early reactions. If you're still in that camp though you're a bit of a bellend.

Coronavirus: health experts fear epidemic will 'let rip' through UK
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/m..._clipboard Quote:On Thursday, Boris Johnson and his medical and scientific advisers announced that only those seriously ill in hospital would be tested. Anyone who had any symptoms should self-isolate at home for seven days, without notifying the NHS.Always thought the mini-Trump comparisons were a bit lazy, but everything Johnson has said throughout this really brings into sharp focus how little he cares about anyone else, how the concept of ""consequences of your actions" is totally alien to him. Coming up with a cogent and coherent plan to protect and reassure the public seems like far too much work for them both, especially when it doesn't affect them in the slightest. The conspiracy theorist in me also thinks a trade deal post-Brexit might be a factor in this too, ie "stick to our line on Covid and let the NHS flounder or the price of a deal goes up", but who fucking knows

Still struggling to get my head around the clear denial that thousands more are infected right now that don't know it and are continuing to spread it as we speak. There will be a point in the next week where the numbers skyrocket and then increase exponentially, as is happening in every other country. Delaying the lockdown isn't helping the NHS.

I can see cases/death rates starting to double each day this week - come this time next week, I'm predicting we'll have been ordered to remain indoors.
Keep an eye out for military convoys on the road and you'll know it's coming.

cases probably won't double because we aren't testing anyone. Let's hope they report accurate death rates so we can at least get a measure of the situation.
I mean in reality cases are probably quadrupling in the UK but I'm not sure how we can prove it without testing

To think I felt like a dick because I'd bought a pack because we were low and the wife came in with a pack later on
