The half arsed measures from the government are so fucking short sighted and counter intuitive to what they supposedly want to achieve.

I get that businesses might be struggling and it's easy for me with a state paid job to sit here and criticise, but there's a local restaurant where I am publicising the fact they're reducing prices until the end of March and actively encouraging people not to forget local businesses and come and eat.

There's another pub who are advertising free food inside in the morning for kids as long as they are with a paying adult to provide support because schools and nurseries are closing

And folk in the comments section are lapping it up too. The government(s) don't appreciate how selfish, ignorant and stupid people are. Unless it's laid out in black and white and bans are put in place, a significant number of people aren't going to change their habits at all.

I know it's difficult for older people as social interaction may be the only positive part of their day for some, but I went to the shops this morning and passed 7 or 8 old women about 75 sitting huddled together outside a cafe under blankets so they could smoke over a cup of coffee. Passed them on the way back 45 minutes later and they were still there.

There's folk in the NHS, care sector, emergency services working themselves into the ground for fuck all because the government won't take the decision out of the public's hand for whatever reason

The kerbside deliveries thing is a good idea. Folk will go stir crazy and going out to pick up a meal would be attractive to them I think.

My parents are the fucking worst as well. They've been galavanting about at DIY shops and that, and had guys in doing work in their house. Spoke to my mum the other day because they'd been at a hospital appointment for my dad and she said they'd been disappointed because they went for lunch at Cool Jade and it was shut.
