Can't wait until it's properly rolled out.

2gb/s speeds Piggy Dex will it be reliable as home internet or would you be better sticking with the wired connection into your house?

We get good speeds over wired but it limits the provider we can use to virgin, anywhere else can only offer me something shite like 5mb/s. Was hoping even with it being wireless over masts it would still be as reliable.

So if there is research that proves it's safe to roll out en masse, then I will be glad to change my opinion.

There's already been a ton of studies. Problem is there invalid when your dealing with Conspiracy Theorists and folk who think it's causing Covid-19.

Your fear of IOT is interesting. Its growth is going to be vital in health and social care technologies in the future.

The Orkney project was started exactly for that reason - they couldn't get reliable broadband. The speed is really impressive and *should* be as reliable as fibre.

IoT is already massive and being actively employed in any applications that have an AI part to them.

Bit in bold - I agree with this. Soon the mix of the technological and the biological will ramp up. We historically have had pacemakers etc... but I think it's inevitable populaces will have technology inserted into their biology and 5G is important for this. Whether this makes you excited or fearful is another question, but I agree it is inevitable.

I've been exposed to zero of the 5G conspiracy stuff - my knowledge of this is just passed on from frustration within the scientific community that a lot of dissenting voices are being suppressed - I imagine it was the suppression of these knowledge bases as they didn't align with current economic growth models which is why the conspriacy theories have taken off so quickly. Conspiracy theorists quickly jump to the idea that there is a few shadowy people controlling it all, when the mundane answer is that corporate power will be intent on rolling this out asap - as you say - growth is king.

Quite Good

Will have a look into that.

We've used those cellular boxes for working in remote areas without WiFi but I've always found them pish even where the signal was good. Wouldn't want to move my home signal onto it but if 5G is more reliable then I'll look into it when it's set up around me.

Happy with the speeds we get just now it's more than enough but we're locked into virgin so can't really haggle on price since they're the only provider.

They were talking of getting up 10Gb as a maximum speed.

For a normal punter though, if you can get 1-2Gb, that's way more than you should need. I've got 1Gb in Stirling and able to download a 10gb movie in about 5 mins.
