Aye serges stuffs not bad tbh.

Must admit, I like most of Kasabians stuff, aye no album has come close to the first, but every album has still had a few songs on it that I love.

They sent out a wee teaser of them working in the studio before all this shite kicked off and it sounded like they were maybe heading back to basics. Had a bit of the first album feel too it.

Seen them live a few times and they've never put on a bad gig.

First Kasabian album was brilliant, unfortunately the true genius in that band was Christopher Karloff and he left shortly after that was release, they have been shit since with the exception of the odd song.

They defo don't get better with age, I thought they were still really good up to WRPLA, less said about velociraptor the better then I was really into for crying out loud.

I'd never argue they're class musicians or that but just one of they bands that get you going and make you feel good when you're listening to them  They're a perfect festival band for me.

Did you get to see them in Dunfermline?

I know a few folk who both worked and went to it and it doesn't sound like they should've been in a venue that small

Think the gig was 5 mins from being pulled but they managed to get it going again, think they had to kill half the video wall or something because of power issues

Na didn't get to that, but the corn exchange a couple of years ago was similar to that. Packed in and it was fucking roasting.

Mind I went to see oasis at the usher hall in 2005 and it was absolute carnage. Somebody fell off the balcony

I've been listening to 'mm food' fucking loads recently by MF doom, I love the music on that album.

Was that at the Alhambra? Way too small, I'm sure they claim they have a capacity of over 2000 but the Carnegie Hall up the road is between 500-600 and isn't much smaller so fuck knows where they get that figure from

Moved abroad in '91, and for most of that year had a decent enough job in a fairly vibrant town; life was good. However, I was made redundant in December so i had a lot of time on my hands, mainly reading and listening to music/radio. Fortunately, I was able to pick up a lot of great music from that year ... there really is an extraordinary number of class albums. So here's four well played ones from that year alone ...



Doesn't include the KLF or Massive Attack, nevermind some of the absolute big hitters of all time in there too.

Aye it was, it was a bunch of warm up gigs for their 48:13 album and they were all in really small venues but they weren't kept on the DL so they were popular as anything

Used to listen to hip hop constantly but in recent years it's very rare for me but some of the best below,


The Predator by Ice Cube is an absolute classic, the albums tone was set around the Rodney King incident, It was a good day & check yo self as the 2 singles-great videos for both as well.

Jeru The Damaja's sun rises in the east.

Love Wu tang but they released so much that you have to sift through the shit to find the classics, good starts would be 36 chambers or The Rza Hits which is a best of from early albums, Liquid Swords by Gza, Rza as Bobby Digital the album, ODB's nigga please,

Dead Prez's let's get free is a really good album although its lyrical themes are a bit intense

Cypress Hill black Sunday and III temples of boom are class as well

You'll no doubt get ripped for kasabian but I love that album too

One of the best performances I ever seen was at Rockness not long after Fire came out.  Their music isn't the best by any stretch but I loved them.  Have you been listening to much of Serge's SLP?

It's different but I really like it, obv quite similar to kasabian but has loads of hip hop and dance themes through it too.  Listen to nobody else, trance and favourites.  They're probably my favourite tracks off the album.

Really liked Kasabian's first three albums. Thought the rot set in pretty badly since Velociraptor sadly.
