Actually pretty seething at this. They undermined Holyrood advice by saying it was “weak science†and one of the biggest arguments against it seemed to be it would give people a false sense of confidence and think they are immune by wearing a mask. Johnson now literally saying they want to use that false sense of confidence to get folk back to work? Somehow Sturgeon is the idiot and one playing political games.
Walked down to the bank in Musselburgh, quite busy out there as it's such a nice day now. Most folks quite aware and observing distancing rules, HOWEVER, they are a few utter trumpets!
I get to the bank and there's a boy wearing an orange and blue scarf waiting in the large porch/doorway at a marked spot so I back off to a position on the pavement about 3 feet away from the the entrance. An old codger with a shopping trolley is tapping away at the cashline behind me. He finishes up and comes a bit closer to peer into the bank. Just then some 20-something dressed in all black, jobbie-catchers, the lot, mainly looking at his phone comes swaggering up and walks right past me and stands about 4 feet away from the boy in the entrance way. I'm in a bit a of a wiggo-ed socked-state, come to my senses and snarl at him "Man, what are you up to?" Auld man behind me, mentions there's a queue. The glaikit cunt just stares at us. I say, "What do you think I'm doing standing here?" Boy menacingly says, "How the fuck do I know what yer doing" as a man from the bank comes out and ushers him away saying he can't stand there so he walks back out onto the pavement and stands opposite me, giving me the evil eye. I windmill an arm and say "Do I really have to spell it out?" "You could have been more polite about it", he comes back, mumbling some other shite which I didn't pick up on. Was tempted to say "Aye you're right sorry, I probably would have been more polite" had it been an old codger/dear but no to some we chav shite who thinks he can do whatever. Scarf boy gets beckoned in and I move into the porch. Chav is giving me death stares into my back. Then eventually get directed to one of the desks and notice that scarfer has left his card in the wee machine so grab it and give it to the doorman and say it belongs to the Boy with the King Billy scarf! In doing so, as I had turned back to face the door i notice that the wee radge has fucked off and been replaced by a woman. result!

Went round to Sainsbury's there. Pretty busy. Apart from me and 3 others, no face coverings. Good to see the advice from the First Minister is being heeded.

She didn't advise where to get them though. I ordered one of Etsy the day they said it and it won't come until next week, it's hard to get them so it will take a while for people to see others using etc.

This absolute CUNT btw. Can't believe we are living in this Goebbels wet dream of a reality where they've just decided they'll tell us their strategy has been a massive success and repeat it until it becomes our truth

She also said there was nothing to suggest they would make a significant impact and they also weren't mandatory
![]() You then have the UK gvt initially saying they were based on weak science but then coming out and saying they can be used as a way to give people confidence to get back to work. I will wear one when it comes because they are advising to but can't blame the public for not going out their way to get masks after the advice that has come out around them from both Scotland and UK.
