We've already moved past that stage, I've met other folk indoors as well
not too bothered anymore tbh, I'm just making my own risk assessments at this point.

Have you thought about doing the meal delivery type things rather than takeaway? First coast do this thing where it's 20pp and you get 3 courses. The stuff comes prepared and just needs heated up in the oven. It was just as good as if it had been in the restaurant tbf, we picked it up in the afternoon to have it that night.

Heated up in the oven
what kind of tinpot restaurants you ordering from?
06-18-2020, 12:31 PM
Well Lewis, contrary to popular belief, the better restaurants actually use real ovens and not microwaves.

I don't even know what to respond to that
![]() That sort of thing has been popular here anyway Kash with the restaurants being closed to punters, not sure if there would be a market there for you. I don't think it's offered every single day and might only be a weekend thing. The demand at first coast was mental, think it sold out within about an hour when they were expecting to have orders open for 3 days. 6 by Nico was doing something similar but when we looked it was expensive and didn't seem worth it.

not hard to see why Lew didn't last very long in the food industry

Any restaurant I've ordered from during lockdown the food has arrived piping hot and ready to eat. Why the fuck would i want to put my food in the oven, if I'm doing that I'd be as well making it myself.

You're probably ordering from takeaways or restaurants that are set up properly to do takeaways. Cheers Morph, not sure that's that big a market for it down here unfortunately. Most of the restaurants that were doing takeaway/ready to heat foods have either stopped because it wasn't busy enough or they didn't have the infrastructure to do deliveries and everybody was just using takeaways. The ones that are still going are the ones that can do pizzas and things like that and turn it round pretty quick. |
