Mind watching one of those Gary Neville soccerbox (cathroyay) programmes with Scholes and he said in that when he sees himself passing it backwards in old games it makes him properly cringe. Said it's almost never necessary as well.
It just reminds me of that weird MacPhee comment about how Souttar will get 5 forwarded passes a game. It's all so over analysed and coached, players don't want to take any risks or do something out of the ordinary.

There is nothing that irritates me more than watching a full back or centre mid stop, put his foot on the ball, swivel and punt it back to their centre back/keeper when there is space in front of them
I mind watching one of those Gary Neville Soccerbox shows (think it was Paul Scholes he was on with) and they were watching back the goals from the day United beat Newcastle 6-2 and GN was criticising himself for the 2nd Newcastle goal because he turned and played the ball back to Barthez.
Started talking about how a fullback should never pass the ball backwards. Changed days.

Aye. Watched the Liverpool Arsenal game last night - first full 90 I've watched this season. First half was absolutely tedious and people were going on about how good a game it was
'Elite' football is a shite watch, give me a Scottish game any day of the week.
Didn't now that. Was probably quite close to shitting my own shorts that night after a right all day bender on the birra and gin & juice, watching costa rica then that game in a hotel lobby.
Big fan of random journeymen goalkeepers getting a gig as a 3rd choice at a big club. Motherwell's keeper from last year currently in goals for Newcastle.
2-2 in the German super cup. Bayern were 2 up but Haaland's just equalised and should've scored again. Doesn't look right that a boy as big as him can run so fast.
Atalanta off and running again. 3 up at Lazio. They really do score for fun. 97 league goals last season which surpassed a previous record in a 38 game season held by Fiorentina dating back to 1950's.
Refreshingly rare for a team in modern times to be so goal hungry in a era where teams ultimately prefer not to lose goals.

Gasperini has done a remarkable job.
Scored 4 at Torino on Saturday in their opening Serie A fixture and have 4 now today at Lazio. Great team to watch.
