Even when the overall figures were low the bad cases were still numerous and persistent meaning resources to fight cases of covid have always been stretched.

I don't know if people are being moved to the BGH from other areas but I do know the BGH is full and have stopped all non essential operations so they can cope. Eek

In brighter news, the Oxford vaccine works and is meant to be being approved in the next few days.

You'd be best giving the Oxford vaccine to school kids to get the numbers up quickly, give the wee cunts just one dose and that should stop them being vectors for it.

Stuff like that is a really effective way to get people to complete a treatment; a small outlay and saves the health provider lots down the line. My wife set up a programme a few years ag to give pregnant women a couple hundred quid if they avoided smoking for the 9 months.

Shite that it needs to be done for some folk, but free money for you.

Aye. in that neck of teh woods the incentive probably should have been greater but yes different way of looking at it for folsk that will benefit in both ways.

Been on the rise again lately, even in this country I believe.  We had a bit of an outbreak in northern Canada a few yrs ago but that's not really surprising considering the overcrowded living conditions, high rates of smoking and sharing pipes/pop cans when getting baked!  The area really suffered badly in the 50/60.  Remember first time I went fishing with a friend. he was probably a good 10 yrs my senior but as we bedded down for the night in a shitty wee cabin in the middle of nowhere he took his top off to get in his sleeping bag and there, couldn't miss it was a massive brutal scar on his back the full length from his shoulder down and outliming his ribcage.  When he was a child he spent a couple of yrs down in ontario at a sanitorium.  Loved his fishing. Tbf it was always a great trip to that lake and one of the trips I miss the most, so many great trips/stories.  Sob

I've never had any issues. Given blood maybe a dozen times and had a couple of tetanus shots but the kids have been awful. Before they were born the wife was a support nurse in a health visitor team so she did all the immunisations and pre school jabs etc and twice has had to speak up to the nurses at our GP's for being so rough with our two. It's a wonder they're not scarred for life
