Think it might be different this time, they seem to have realised how completely lacking their scouting and development is and what that's meant for the makeup of their team.
A lot of Rangers fans seem to be quite keen on the idea of a young manager who can put a whole system in place.
Folk going a bit OTT for Cathro though. Clearly a guy who has achieved a lot in a short space of time, but his abilities are are pretty unproven, or at least they are as a manager.
Giving up a gig like that for 'family reasons' always sounds like he can't cut it or he's doing a Barry Ferguson's wife who missed shopping in Glasgow and hanging about with her mum.

Exactly. You'd think he was Mourinho the way some went on, not a promising 28 year old coach.
Surely cathro would be better suited to a DOF role anway. By all accounts he's sometimes quite a prickly character. I get the feeling he might be a roy keane or steven pressley kinda manager, whereas he'd be able to shape a club from top to bottom as a proper DOF.
Mark Warburton confirmed as Rangers manager with Davie Weir as assistant. Pretty good signing, now it all depends on how much money he's given to change the squad.

Nowhere near convinced about Warburton, whose managerial reputation seems to be based on taking a pretty shit team to a playoff humping in England. However as he will be up against the shite this season, I have no hesitation in welcoming him to Scotland and offering my sincere hopes that his first season in charge of ra Teddy Bearz is a resolute success.
