Hard to disagree with what he's said even if he's a Hamilton fan and a bit biased, I'm not sure how you can tell he isn't a “real†fan of the sport though
![]() It's surely not even a question that a decision was made for the entertainment factor? You could be sound with that but that's surely def what happened?

You guarantee he wouldn't be outraged had the roles been reversed. Its more a criticism of TalkSport that the best person they could find to discuss probably the biggest talking point in the history of F1 is failed footballer turned Z-list socialite Jamie O'Hara

If they had pitted Hamilton he would've won the race whether or not he had track position or not. I think he knows that and he knows it was his team who has essentially fucked him over. He was on the radio asking why they didn't bring him in and he said it was a bit risky.

I mean at the first VSC. I think if he had freshened up his tyres there he would have won. He nearly got Max back on that last lap with those old tyres and I think he would've got past with Hards that were 20 laps younger.
I may be way off btw I can't remember but if Hamilton had pitted at the first VSC he would've been no worse than 2nd. Perez was totally out of play by that point too iirc so surely the tactics would just swap
12-13-2021, 01:45 PM
Went over this yesterday, Hamilton was maintaining a 13 second advantage on those tyres before the SC so there was no need for them to have pitted.
Also doubtful he'd have came back against a fresh set of soft tyres even with slightly newer hard tyres.

Fair enough. Suppose you can only say losing track position was fine in hindsight anyway.

Was fine with what happened tbh
![]() One lap winner takes all. Let those back marker lapped cunts out the road. Dont have to let them all through. Get them out the way and let the 2 guys go for it. Everyone saying aw it was fixed boo hoo, how about Hamilton actually defended the place? Wasny a for gone conclusion that Max would get past! And then there was the disgrace earlier of when Max passed him, didnt give the spot back, and was let off with being further up the road. Dont think Max or Lewis were overly hard done by, comes out as a wash. Hamilton is a wee dick, Toto is a big cunt and fuck Mercedes. Be better. Where was Bottas for instance, fucking naewhere, and we seen the difference Perez made for Max holding Lewis up till he got there. Hard to feel sorry for Lewis and Mercedes, they are basically Celtic, have all the advantages, and are still the ones hard done by ![]() Cry me a river dickhead. Maybe im biased and letting my hatred of Lewis cloud me here, but really, Lewis is the better driver, better team, better car, better everything. Really he should have romped it this season, and Max even being in with a shout is a massive achievement, never mind actually winning the fucking thing. Lewis always gets the rub of the green. Again, like the Tims, has all the advantages and still gets the decision. Did it look bad, aye, but its a whole season, not just one lap in one race. Fuck Lewis

One lap winner takes all...except Hammy is on 30 lap Hards and Max is on fresh softs.
If i was Hamilton I would've just rammed him off the track, try and damage his front wing and deal with the fall out.

Whos fault is that tho, Bono's?

No ones fault. Just the idea being peddled by a few that it was this epic one lap shootout is untrue.
Might as well have been an F1 v an F2 car. A sitting duck. Tbf to Hammy, he used all his racecraft to come back with the tow on the straight, but Max easily shut the door and that was that.

They couldn't have pitted under the safety car as Max would have stayed out and there was every chance the race would finish with no more racing laps, so track position was everything. Max had nothing to lose by pitting.

The luck of the safety car isn't in question. Happens all the time, and its benefitted both drivers in the past. It's the fact that one rule was applied, then changed at incredibly late notice, and not fully applied to allow a shootout where Hamilton was always going to be a sitting duck.
Hamilton will have won a lot of people over with his immediate reaction to all this. While it came down to the last lap, the championship is decided over 22 races, and he clearly appreciates that.

If we want to be incredibly cynical, Lewis knows Merc will do the heavy lifting to get him the title and he can take the high-ground to keep his brand/image intact. I don't strictly think this, but of course it is a possibility than an element of this is at play.

Fair point. It still takes a lot to keep it together in the moment, tbf.

Saw someone saying last night if Bottas was as good a team mate as Perez he'd have fired himself into the wall to keep the safety car out
