Is it that confusing though or are you choosing to be confused because it's clear as day to me what is expected Laugh

Tone back Xmas parties/going out etc on the lead up to Christmas then you can spend a day with your family. That obviously still comes with risk but it's a compromise on the Christmas period just being a total free for all.

Tbf feels like people have been saying for ages “just let us decide if we want to take the risk or not”, is this not what is essentially happening here and the same folk will still be going daft Laugh

What's she actually meant to say though, we know how it spreads and we know it will rip through a group of people easily so maybe having big gatherings should be avoided as much as possible? Not rocket science is it.

Nothing confusing with the guidance. Just people acting the goat to try and be smart.

If large gatherings are the problem why are thousands of unvaxxed folk put in single buildings day after day with virtually no mitigation?
If you want to break the chain of transmission then starting with schools would be the sensible starting point?

We'll restrict certain areas but forget that guidance on two specific days is fucking nonsense I'm afraid.

What should she have said? Probably nowt as she quite clearly can't do what she'd like to do. Concentrate on the booster programme and testing not being a shambles rather than trying too hard to appear like a leader. She's getting on my breasts now.

Are you not bored of recycling this pish, it's been over a year.

There is no right answer, we and many other countries are all just muddling through and have been for a long time now. Accept it. Do you think kids in Germany and Netherlands are all at home twiddling their thumbs? No, they are all at school coughing covid on each other.

Infections rising, something had to be said. Onus is on us to do the right thing, as it has been all along really.

Not really sure there any restrictions actually been put  in place in reality, it's all guidance and suggestions for us to follow. If you don't want to follow them then bash on with it.

The less we do in the run up to Christmas will mean the likelihood of infecting your family will be lower, throw in boosters and testing and you're laughing.

Short of locking things down which she clearly can't do, there's not much that could really be done other than try and emphasise the seriousness of this.

Most places are closed on xmas, so it's literally just to see your loved ones.

The ways some of you guys act it's like she's your mum and you're throwing a tantrum. It's Scottish Government guidance designed in close collaboration with clinicians and public health officials. Agree or disagree but stop being so cringey when you do so. The whole 'wah wah, it's unfair, mummy, i want to go out and play' stuff is creepy.

I think I lost faith in mummy when she allowed half the planet to come over here for a jolly a few weeks ago and was hanging about the top boys trying to get a selfie. Didn't feel right and now the daft jocks are paying the price again.

It's pissing me off that there is no consistency to any of it.

England is a shambles but at the very least they are consistent with letting it rip its way through the population/denying it's an issue.

Up here it's a very serious pandemic in some places and in some places it isn't. It's one or the other - it can't be both.

Take some initiative - say it's serious and we are going for a circuit breaker couple of weeks or say it'll be a rough few weeks/months but we aren't prepared to take the steps needed to shut off the breeding grounds.

We don't know how serious the variant is yet, that's the point. Especially as the different vaccinations seem to provide vastly different levels of protection.
Which is why they are trying to mitigate a little while boosters are administered.
And what do you mean it can't be a very serious pandemic in some places and in other places it can't?  I've always advocated for a more locally based approach for precisely that reason, built up urban areas are going to be very different from rural highland areas and likewise with island communities.

Fuck me, why is everyone thick as fuck apart from me. Actually gets me down.

The fact that both your mongness is making me stick up for the Scottish Neoliberal Party is sickening.

Scrapped tax benefits for private schools the day though, so in my good books jjay

You will be following the guidance if you see your family on Christmas Day, since the guidance allows for that May Bee
