How long will covid stay in system for? So if positive after 10 days do you still isolate even though no symptoms?

Cases surging in England, hospital in Lincoln and other NHS trusts now reporting that staff shortages are delaying patient procedures and operations. Due to get worse.

Surely the staff shortages are down to staff off with the covit. Sitting in the hoose feeling brand new.

They'll definitely change the isolation rules to solve staff shortages before bringing in any restrictions.

We're currently the only country on this island with 10 day isolation and the arse is falling out of our NHS. Insane. Stadiums are closed though so all good.

That's the reality, NHS staff have to self isolate if they have come into contact with someone reporting a positive test. I get that in the general population you take your chances, but you really don't want outbreaks flying through hospitals.

I dont get this constant linking a slightly more responsible Omicron response back to the football organising an early winter break. Genuinely starting to view you as a bit of a freakshow because of it. Give yourself a shake man. Netherlands football went behind closed doors and a hard lockdown a week before Xmas and continues. Germany closed all Christmas markets and you'd need a government approved lateral flow test and a double vaccination QR code scan just to use the gym. We've got it very easy here. We are doing superb on vaccine and booster uptake in Scotland. The best in Europe. Strong, consistent public health messaging from the Scottish Government has helped tremendously.

Scottish isolation period is changing pretty much any day now is it not?
Don't get the insistence in citing England as a beacon of sense when it comes to covid, Boris and co have fucked it at every opportunity and yet because we've canned the football folk are dying to follow his rules :

I was catching up with a friend today who manages a team in an important NHS department and the stories were fucking frightening like. A lot revolving around staff not really understanding the isolation rules for NHS staff and coming in when they shouldn't etc and big operations being cancelled as staff sit at home absolutely fine. Something has to change ASAP.

The football (events with large numbers) restrictions also makes sense once you realise it's to do with policing numbers/emergency and essential services in general.
If we are talking about ambulance shortages then why the insistence to go ahead with an event in which an ambulance is stood outside for two hours+ and the vast majority of the time won't be needed. Same with having police stand about for the same amount of time when they can get battering folk help enforce the rules elsewhere. Never mind a train service that seems to be on its knees and we still have this desire to plough ahead with thousands extra folk on the trains every few days.

Anyone reckon we will have any sort of reduction in restrictions if those omicron figures continue to be so low?
