Iran are no mugs, did pretty well at the last couple world cups from memory. Yanks have some decent players. Us or Wales will give them a harder game than they'd like to finish the group stage.

The inglorious group stage exit is long overdue for this bunch of England players.

I think he's a good player but I don't think he'll ever be nearly as good as Gerrard or Yaya Toure, certainly not as influential as in carrying teams, bagging crucial goals etc, just don't see that in him.

Don't see it with the Rooney Comparison either. I don't think he'll play a big part at the world cup at all, he might get minutes but they'll be limited imo.

I'm not directly comparing him, I just mean that sort of player/in terms of influence.

It might be a tournament or two too early for him but he seems a special player so it wouldn't shock me if he kicks on this winter. He's been involved in 12 England games and they've won them all and he was MOM last game. May end up being nothing but he feels like an exceptional talent. We shall see. Obviously I hope McSauce nails him in the first minute.

Most important thing to look at is englands route to the final. Easy round of 16 game, but then likely to France in the quarters. So unlikely to go much further.
