Quote:A man has been found guilty of trying to buy deadly ricin poison from the Dark Web after being inspired by the hit US television series Breaking Bad.

Mohammed Ali, 31, was convicted at the Old Bailey of attempting to possess a chemical weapon after around five and a half hours of deliberations by a jury.
Ali, from Liverpool, struck a deal with a supplier in January to buy 500mg of powder - enough to kill 1,400 people.

He was unaware that his source was in fact an FBI agent.

The trial heard the father-of-two was sent harmless powder hidden inside a toy car.

After opening the package, which had been treated with a marker substance, he was arrested at his home the following morning.
Under ultraviolet light, Ali's face lit up, showing he had handled the car.

Never understood why the media quote facts like 'enough ricin to kill 1400 people'. Yeah, but he's obviously not going to divide it into 1400 samples of however many micrograms it takes to kill someone and poison them one by one. Always seemed pointless.

I get sent a morning news update from a company - this little gem arrived this morning (no link i'm afraid and cant be bovved looking)

"The Russian newspaper Pravda has denied claims by David Cameron that the KGB attempted to recruit him during the Cold War. The Prime Minister tells of an incident at a beach when he was travelling around the Soviet Union during his gap year where two Russian men took an avid interest in Mr Cameron, his friend and the state of politics in the UK. Pravda dismisses the claim and says the men were most likely looking for sexual relations."

Glorious

I didn't realise buy Davy-C had said this stuff. Must keep a keener watch on him

Seems pretty smiley about a rape attack. Not sure if the guy is trying to do a raper expression or is just frightfully embarrassed about being photographed Laugh
