TBH with these guys I feel about 3/4 years is the right cycle. His contacts and ideas will have dried up, it's time for a fresh start in the regard.
He's done OK but there was a lot of jobs for the boys stuff going on there. Someone higher profile would be interesting.

Would like to think he'd have been told he needs to stay until we had someone lined up to replace him, particularly with the summer window kicking off.
Maybe a new sporting director gets Shanks re-signed

Time to come home
The big mistake Savage made was to be front and centre whenever there was any praise to be dished out and he started slavering about this mythical next level. Only way is down after that because it's unobtainable in our current set up.
He'll be well thought of though and will probably land a decent gig down south. The transfer policy has quite clearly changed course over the last year so wonder if he's been overruled in some things.

Patchy signing record at best. Savage is also a egomaniac, so he can fuck off

Nobody is going to have the experience to overrule him on footballing matters at board level, I can’t imagine McKinley is away masterminding the transfer strategy. He’s been good for us overall imo but feel he leaves us too exposed when he doesn’t get his desired targets and we’re left flapping a bit. His signings have been overall good and he’s delivered players who have given us good league finishes and allowed us to have a crack at trophies. If prem clubs are after him I’ll be interested to see what sort of role that is in.

Getting bevvied with the fans leaking wee bits of info and lapping up the adulation but then crying when you get a bit of stick at a fans meeting isn’t it.
Ego indeed

Think it was confirmed he doesn't drink

Oh no, the guy that tried to sign Jorge Grant for about four different clubs is leaving.

Good riddance

Some decent points. Shanks was a Nelson signing and Beni was a Naisy/David Weir recommendation.

Something is brewing at Tynecastle and it’s quite exciting.
Davie Weir coming up would be a real coup

I’d be surprised if it’s got much to do with these rumours of investment.
He’ll have interest and want to pursue a higher level down south, the talks would need to be at a fairly advanced stage with FOH involved before there was chat of installing any new sort of regime’s own guys.

The signings so for are all SPFL players and maybe he’s wanting more input, geniunely not fussed he’s away, if he gets a new job hopefully takes some of the duds he brought here with him. NAP whoever he joins will be linked immediately with Shanks
