Irving was a decent prospect in a shite hertz team, I would’ve liked him to stay but it wasn’t to be as the club and pler were too far apart in where they seen him fitting in.

Good for him that he cracked on but don’t think we were the club for him at the time and tbh we were at a point where we needed a big rebuild.  Don’t think that was going to happen around Irving.

Remains to be seen if he’ll go and do it in a top league, he seemed to do well for himself in Austria.  Would be good for Scotland if he continued to improve.

A decent enough player but he came through at the worst possible time when Levein was picking the team from the golf course/bookies.

European jollies every few years are all well and good, but the only chance of something resembling competition domestically comes with the old firm losing out on champions league money.

His pre-season performances were so lax in everything he does.

Partick ended up playing him CDM latterly. Maybe that his position?

I'm not a Rowles fan but I feel more secure with him than Neilson so that says to me he's not ready for us yet. St Johnstone would be a great move actually. Get him back in Jan if he does well.

St Johnstone would be a good move for him. Gives him a chance to show he can do it at this level and lets Hearts decide whether or not to give him a go next season. He's not ready now.

Guys like Wilson and Tait aren’t fully ready either but because they have talent you want them to get chances and game time to kick on.

Especially playing in a 3 would be good for him, I don’t really buy into he’s not ready to feature, at some point you have to give these guys a good crack of the whip. I’d rather keep him here until January and if he’s really not cutting it then send him on a 6 mth loan.

Different for a CB though. They need extended runs of games. Guys like Wilson can come on with 20 to go and the worst they can do is not get involved in an attack.

He can get a run in the league when we’ve got a heavy calendar of European games.

If we’re sending him out on loan I hope it’s not to Levein if we want the guy to develop. They’ll be getting skelped and he’ll have his confidence shattered, very quickly he’s a pler who’s in a defence that’s shipping 2/3 goals a game and staring down relegation. Don’t see how that helps him.

It’s very rare we get a player at that age who has all the physical attributes, for me he’s probably one of our biggest youth talents and think he should be in the squad this season but appreciate people will see it differently. Type of pler who could come in and impress then get on the radar of teams in Italy etc, Funk was raw when he went down south but his physical attributes were quality and got him a decent move.

I think he's physically more than ready but it doesn't look like he knows the position yet. Hard to start in him many games at centre back if that's the case.

Tbh, I thought the loan would've cured that. Maybe the penny wont drop at Hearts after all. Plenty time though, imo. Hate that we just get rid of young players if they don't immediately cut it.
