What's the relevance of that Scotland youth game? Feel like I'm missing something with the attention it's getting

Noted visionary Scot Gemmill after being turned over by a country with the population of Bradford:
Quote:You have to remember there's not a lot of depth when it comes to young players in Scotland.

That’s a guy that’s been U21 manager for 9 years and what’s he achieved in that time?

You've got to ignore Celtic and Rangers, there's been next to no competition for years.

See we’re going to request more tickets as we are close to selling out the 19k allocation for the semi.

Sitting back against a Rangers team that were dead on their feet after playing 120 minutes in a European final, three days earlier, in boiling hot conditions. We didn't have a decent attempt on goal in two hours of football. Ridiculous, and a massive chance wasted to win the Scottish Cup. Against Celtic, in the game we lost on penalties, their confidence was on the floor, and Rangers were pissing the league. They had fucked 10 in a row and TGFITW wanted rid of Neil Lennon. They were there for the taking, but we didn't bother to turn up until we were 2-0 down.

Our confidence in that Celtic final would have been sky high after scudding Morton or whatever shite we toiled against at that time. The fact that a genuinely disgraceful Hearts side took it to penalties was impressive for us/embarrassing for Celtic

Ross County put them out the League Cup at Parkheid and their fans went aff their nut, trying to attack the Celtic team bus.

Wouldn't have meant anything to me had we won it tbqh. Not being present to celebrate probably the only win vs those cunts in a generation!
I'll take it this year, thank you very much. |
