I will grudgingly give AP credit for this correct take. Just think of all of the wasted years watching terrible footballers stink up Tynecastle. And in Year One of a new era we're putting in, at the very least, a very credible title challenge. Whether you like it or not, it is one of the best Hearts sides in our lifetimes.

Here's a revolutionary idea, how about you just be objective about what you see on the pitch and if players do well, give them credit and if players are below par, say it as you see it.

All of this 'you have to buy into positive/negative narratives'. Some of you just exist in your little mythologies. It's plain to see Magnusson is a limited footballer but is in the team because he's a worker and is tall. I would say in large vast majority of this place is positive about our squad.

Magnusson is a young guy from Iceland who is valued at 40k. You would be lucky to get a League One player for that price.

He's been heavily involved in 12 wins this season and is now being asked to play right midfield for the benefit of the team. Put Cammy or Beni in right mid and watch how hopeless they'd be. He'll probably drop out of the team for a period as he's gone off the boil a bit which is fine, the plan would never have been for him to play as often this season, but needs must.

I think people expect to be watching 2005 levels of player which just isn't the case. We're getting players who have parts of their games that need improvement but with undoubted ability. This is an entirely different type of league challenge but it's proving to be more effective.

Magnusson, Kabore, Braga etc can't all be shite. It just doesn't add up with our league position.

People need to accept the team and signings for what they are and enjoy where we are.

It's not going to be over in a flash, it's clearly a long term project and all evidence points to sustainable growth over the next decade.

Again, this is you propogating another fear-based narrative based on comfort rather than material reality. I know the betas struggle with the alpha mindsets that people like Morph and I exhibit, that's cool.

Anyway, we are all in agreement that Magnusson is a decent 40k player and will hopefully improve. You have said he will go down as an all-time Hearts legend. Ironically, these people are the only interesting folk on here. It's fun to bash Sarkozy, but he was entitled to hold the opinion that Braga looked a bit rough/frayed when he played. Braga has more than proven himself to actually be a rough diamond and Sarko has swallowed his pride on that one. We can see where he's coming from and makes for an interesting topic to discuss.

What i would say is this team at the moment are being judged as potential league winners, so if you go out and have a bit of a howler and we don't get the job done then you're going to start feeling far more frustration from the fans than if we were cantering away to third with nothing to really play for.

If we finish this season 2nd/3rd there will be initial disappointment but i'd imagine majority of fans would take a step back and say well done to the squad for their efforts this season. Right now though whilst we're in it i think it's probably good we have these high expectations we demand from the players because if we're to actually do that there's levels we need to keep playing at and we canny just sit and be delighted about certain performances while 1st slips through our hands.

We're still in a great position but as a club we can't let our standards slip for a moment
