I could actually see us getting a 0-0 with Morocco as much as they are good but I feel they're pretty punchless up top, if we can weather the storm and get a bit of luck then we could snake a point.

Brazil are gash but they've got too much firepower not to score against us.

I’m the same tbh I’m a bit surprised at the reaction to it as we’ve done what was expected of us. A lot of folk getting carried away with it just being Haiti, I don’t think there was ever a reality where we went and pumped them rotten this morning.

Could’ve been a better performance admittedly but we’ve just won in the World Cup so I think there’s more to be happy about than complaining Laugh

Sucked the enthusiasm out of it for me that last night. I fucking hate Steve Clarke. I bet he loves washing his car.

I really do think we need to move on from the attitude of qualifying and beating minnows is something to shout about, you can't ever progress with that kind of attitude imo.

If 99% of teams in this tournament performed like that and scraped by Haiti they would be getting slaughtered.

Maybe when we do it more than once every 36 years we can do that.

Well we won't if we continue to act like scraping by Haiti is some kind of achievement.

Make no mistake, Brazil looked absolutely fucking honking anawl.

We seemed to have sacrificed our working midfield solution for Shitland and Adams up top. Wiggo

Suspect we'll be back to normal after that shocker last night.

Thought Lewis Ferguson did well, not much football but calmed the game and won repeated fouls off them.

We are where we are san, getting out the group seems to be considered some unbelievable achievement but just like this morning that wins you fuck all either. We don’t suddenly become a proper outfit who is progressing by being hard on oorselves after a underwhelming performance we do that over the course of years of improving Scottish football from the ground up but that’s a criticism for after the WC.

I genuinely am just happy to be here because we’ve been given a group of death and there’s absolutely no chance this group of players with Clarke go deep into the knockouts so just going to enjoy the carnival Jezza

It's frustrating that we ride our luck to the degree we do. We sat back and let Greece steamroll us twice in the groups as well. Luckily, Greece at Hampden and Haiti were dreadful with the final ball. Same with the last Denmark game, we scored early and just gave them all the space they wanted - a soft red bailed us out.

History is going to look very kindly on Clarke's run, but living through it has been eye bleeding Laugh

This is a lovely read. They seem like proper good guys, their fans in the Rum Shack after the game last month were sound as fuck as well

I think we should have a chance though, you have to get a wee bit of fortune with the draw obviously but I don't like the attitude of being at tournaments is enough, that's what really pissed me off at the Euros after that Hungary game, people having a laugh and joke thinking just being there was more than we could ever imagine when really we just passed up an opportunity to progress against a bang average side.

Aye you’re right. Don’t get me wrong I want to see Scotland do better but now isn’t really the time to moan about it as the decisions have been cast in stone that have led us here.

FWIW the only miserable dour cunts I’ve seen bleating on inserting their negativity into the World Cup socials etc are England fans. Take from that what you will and don’t be like the English Monty Ooh

It's fine to just enjoy it, and it's not as if Scotland were ever going to go deep into the tournament, but we don't have to pretend that wasn't a terrible performance Warnock

It was the same at the last Euros when we meekly collapsed against Hungary (a nation we absolutely should have been capable of beating) and people were giving it 'we should just be happy to have qualified, these are good teams, they played their hearts out'. Nations smaller than Scotland, and with fewer players who on paper are playing at a decent level, routinely go to tournaments and get results. There's a happy medium between being so miserable you can't enjoy the moment and pretending that scraping a result against Haiti negates the terrible performance.

We’re going into a World Cup with Grant Hanley as the starting centre half san, just enjoy the ride and plot our path to future success once it’s over.

We’re tap of the group ahead of Brazil and Morocco, drink it in GodIsGod

Hungary were a tough team that tournament, were they not higher ranked than us back then as well? We’ve shot up quite a few places recently but I’m sure back then they had a better spot.

I do feel there’s a bit of arrogance around teams like that because I don’t see us as someone who should just be expecting to turn over a team like Hungary, right now that’s always going to be a very hard game. We should in the sense that our country revolves around football and so many kids are exposed (Begbie) to the nations number 1 sport so we should be a lot better but our team isn’t actually as good as some make out in comparison to other nations. I get the idea folk think we’re on par with someone like Croatia or similar top 15 team, teams who aren’t quite the elite level but still very good but I feel we’re still way off that.

From what I seen of the US they have largely been considered a footballing backwater who don’t even like fitba and they would likely be comfortable against us. We have been left behind and let doon by the SFA.

If you wanted to start a Low Performance Podcast you could employ Morph in the Jake Humpty role. Never come across someone so desperate to defend life’s losers at all costs.

Is that what we’re calling this Scotland squad that’s went and achieved the first World Cup finals wins since about 1990 - life’s losers? Zlat

No wonder this island has a permanent grey cloud over it

You’ve just been saying it was fine we shat the bed against Hungary and Switzerland ya slaver Zlat

It’s brilliant that we are at the tournaments and for most of us it’s the first time we’re seeing Scotland at a World Cup as adults so huge gratitude to Clarke for that, but from a sporting achievement point of view none of his qualifications are comparable to the 90s tournaments until he gets us out of a group.
