The planes always seem to be taken in BF1 so I was up for giving it a bash when I finally got the chance.
Crashed straight into a tree after about 30 seconds trying to get the thing under control
I did the story missions with the plane easily enough but just couldn't get to grips with it at all in MP. There should be some kind of pilot practice mode offline, I had similar issues with helicopters in Bad Company 2.
I am starting to put together positive k/d ratios while still contributing to the objectives now
I seem to have my better games with the Support class. I still get sniped every now and then but I'm better at avoiding it now, that moment when you get sniped, a Medic revives you and you get sniped again before you can do anything
