Always thought Donaldson's deaf school could potentially have been used instead and would've made a far better building. It wasn't fit for purpose for years, even before it was bought by Cala in 2003. I'm sure a refurb would've cost far less than Holyrood did.

It is an absolute monstocity and should never have been built in the first place. As you say, Donaldsons was sold around the same time it was built for c£15m.
It's tacky and rank and not surprised to hear it has a short life span.
