Yes, mental health etc, but still - people will die because of this.
I work at a University that closes every single year over the "Christmas" period. I can't rock up and work on Christmas day because I'm not Christian - the building is closed. I'd say most public service businesses, and most private businesses, are closed on Christmas day. So excluding this lockdown thing, we're always making concessions for the normative majority? We're also closed on January 1st. Are we then excluding those that don't follow the Gregorian calendar?
I don't think so. I think the lockdown is being eased over a period that is long established as a national holiday, regardless of where it's roots are. It's nothing about majorities or minorities. It's just common sense.
