Pretty much every ambitious AAA title has issues on release these days, a game that had its last year of development in coronavirus is going to feel that more. If they had just made this a next gen title which it should be then they wouldn't have these big issues. The Witcher 3 was the same but no one is talking about the release issues years down the line, it's seen as one of the best games of its generation.
They've tried to promise too much it seems but I didn't get myself all excited for years like others so maybe I'm just not falling victim to the over exaggerated hype these things get.
The way people were going on was like they wanted some “ready player one†type level of immersion where they never had to go outside again
Youre never getting that if that's the expectations you set which it seems like a lot of the proper gamer folk did.
