I think a fair bit of the frustration from 'normal' people is they perceive politicians as not acknowledging the above. Headlines like the government are stealing from pensioners and putting up men coming in off boats in fancy hotels and you've got yourself some normally reasonable people who are angry.

It's a fucking shit show.

It's fairly obvious that there is a fair chunnk of the population seriously pissed off with the way immigration has been dealt with over the past decade, I'm guessing, maybe even longer.
