Like every Western right populist to proto-fascist party since circa 2015, if they secure power they will not make any signficant dent in immigration and fund our healthcare for all of us like they promise, there will always be someone/something else to scapegoat as to why they were unable to do what they promised. What they will muster the political will to deliver efficiently is a collectively curbing of all of our civil liberties, push us into a surveliiance state and protect global capital and the military industrial complex at all costs.
It's been over a decade now of various globalists masquarading as being 'on the side of the people'. Time and again they create a theatre whereby the wealthiest people position themselves as representing the proletariat against the patronising professional managerial classes. Routinely using stooges/mouthpieces for hire and tailoring how we receive information through the big tech platforms that we are forced to now use to communicate with each other and attempt to understand whats going on in the world.
Of course, those representing other political intersts also attempt to manipulate mass media in their favour. I'm not saying they are unique in this regard, however they are often backed by those with massive amounts of structural power to manipulate how we understand things much more efficiently than the average folk who want positive change.Folk like us who want a better, more just world (e.g. public goods such as affordable housing transport, good healthcare, childcare and education etc...). There are lots of really good people who dedicate their lives to these things that we never hear about. These are our brothers and sisters, not forrmer investment bankers and property tycoons who we all know are pishing themselves at how easy we are to manipulate behind our backs (The Epstein u-turn the most obvious, recent weekly example to keep it on topic of the thread title).
The crucial component is to maintain your own autonomy, and not allow yourself to be manipulated by cretins and to question everything - on all sides of the political spectrum.
It may be tempting to enter into some faustian pact just once and give proto-fascists your vote because "at least they'll curb immigration" etc... but evidence suggests it is highly unlikely there will be any noticable change in that regard. However, you would definitely be voting for an overall more miserable life for yourself, your spouse and your children if you temporarily give away your own personal dignity and allow a bunch of wolves in sheeps clothing to run the show because you're sick of the current PMC.
It's a severe poverty of imagination to think there are only two choices to bring about change: fascist cunts or a bunch of neo-liberal suits. I hate them both and neither will be getting my vote. The more difficult thing is to stay composed and put your energy into healthier alternatives whenever they arise, often making compromises with people you don't agree with on every issue. First and foremost I won't lower myself to be ideologically captured by such a low-bar bunch of cretins.
