Forgetting about inflation, in terms of total squad market value, Hearts (€17.47m) are roughly where RUSG (€16.4m) were in 18/19.
RUSG squad value has been €54m (21/22), €71m (22/23), €111m (23/24), €131m (24/25), €85.75 (25/26).
RUSG have made a total transfer profit of ~€90m since 18/19.
If you look at RUSG between 18-21, they were making market trades like hearts are making now (eg frees and <€500k). Now they are regularly trading in the €ms.
Here’s some of the players they’ve sold for over €10m:
They did all this and won the title last season, and being a point an away to two seasons before that. They’ve also bagged a couple of cups.
Is it really that unrealistic to assume we will match squad valuations with Celtic and Rangers (€120m) within next 5 years (7x increase)?
This is happening.
