I've never been a big fan either Hank.

I like their singles quite often but I've only listened to one studio album from start to finish and that was the first one.

The background to the album piqued my interest...I'm a sucker for triumph from adversity.

I really like the album and it's prompted me to investigate their back catalogue with all of their albums arriving this week.

But...as you say...they won't float every boat.

They are playing two nights at the Barrowlands in March actually.

I haven't ever seen them but I reckon it would be a good show.

Given that a ticket is half the price of one to see Morrissey at the enormodome of the SSE Hydro and that they will probably play at least half an hour longer I thinks I will try to pick one up on payday this week.

Oh Morrissey forgive me.

had a quick skim through the album, first impressions were good. Will listen to the full thing when I have time tomorrow. If the first song is anything to go by, I think it will be right up my street Smile

Burgess needs a boot up the arse for his barnet these days, mind. To think Dennis Wise got pelters whilst ol' Tim is walking the streets.

Barnet aside he looks bloody incredible for a man who spent a large part of his life hoovering up vast quantities of drugs...

He is forty-seven and looks a hell of a lot younger.

Must be the transcendental meditation.

Good thread.

Burgess' barnet is shocking nowadays, especially given his 90s effort was a classic.

I'll need to check this album out, they've got a decent back catalogue but the last few LPs haven't interested me at all. I went through a period when I was 15 of trying to buy all the roses and charlatans early singles, still got the charlatans ones somewhere, but the roses ones were on 7" and got chored with a bag of vinyl years ago.

The some friendly anniversary tour was the last time I saw them, they are a really good live band.

The more I listen to the album the more inclined I am to go see them in March.

Might make up for not getting a ticket for HMHB this Friday.

I have Tellin Stories and Wonderland. Other than that and the obvious hits I've not really gave them a look in years. Always liked this though...
