Today’s DIY project. £40 for each bit of wood, sanded and cut to level and to length. Another £100 to get my windshield replaced after breaking and sending them through the bottom corner. Easy as that.  GodIsGod

Ignore the 1970s lightswitch pls. Waiting on the sparkle to come and replace it with a new one. My DIYing only goes to far and fucking about with live electricity is a bit much.

What type of walls you got there? We’ve got the plasterboard and I’m shiteing myself to mount shelving on it - fancied they type of shelves myself but think they’d be way too heavy.

They’re concrete walls. Think I’d be too feart if they were plasterboard.

I’m sure it was you I spoke to about this a while ago now but we went ahead and painted everything in eggshell. It’s turned out much nicer than if we had painted it using matte.

Need industrial quantities for that based on the amount of fucking weeds around my garden. Fat Cunt Gardening is a fucking joke like - how are you supposed to fit it around full time work and parenting. APRant

Mikey, how do I get rid of crabgrass and white clover?

Think it gets to a point where you’re as well as ripping it up and starting again.

My old mans is that bad that he just cuts it short with a lawnmower and it looks ok but the entire bit of grass is just 100% weeds Laugh

I used to pay someone £100 to fix my garden once a year. I don't have one anymore, but the only thing I really miss is the occasional BBQ.

How easy is it to install internal doors btw?

Something tells me it’s no as simple as just banging some screws into the frame and the door vladchin

It’s an absolute pain in the arse if the door frame isn’t level then you will need to plane the door to suit the frame, but also if the door is panelled you will need to split the difference and take it off both sides otherwise it will look lopsided.

You’ll also need to chisel in the hinges, drill in the  latch and handle. It took our joiner just over an hour for each door, would’ve taken me over 6 probably and I’d have made a mess of it Warnock

Just had a look on YouTube - joiner it is Warnock

I’ve been putting off hanging shelves for about 4 months anaw. Plasterboard walls give me the absolute fear if it was brick I’d be firing all sorts up no bother but the walls would be better made out of cheese man.

Cannot wait to move Laugh

You can get plasterboard rawl plugs. We used them to hang the TV bracket.

I've used these Gripit fixings for pretty heavy shelving on my plasterboard walls. Used the smaller ones for TV mounting as well.

Is painting a black metal (iron?) fence that is rusting going to be one of these things that seem easy and turns out to be a pain in the arse?

Do you have to sand all the paint off and then just paint it?

Explain it to me like I'm 3 years old.

Just sand any rust and flaky paint off.

If you get hammerite paint, it’s self priming so will go over the existing stuff.

That Hammerite did seem to be the one when I was looking into it. I'll have a go then get a real man in when I fuck it up Sound

Wire brush it rather than sandpaper it
