Inglorious basterds on channel 4.

Finally a movie that sympathises with the humble nazi soldier Tony Hmm

To mark the thirty year anniversary (last Friday) of the release of Clueless, I just watched it again. Still enjoyable.

Fantastic Four is really good. Not enough Ben Grimm smashing fuck out of things but apart from that very enjoyable.

Bring Her Back - really good. Made by the same Aussie brothers that did Talk To Me which is also excellent. Both are horrors but there's a lot of depth to the stories and characters and it all works really well.

Fantastic Four - decent enough film probably a 7/10 plus point is there were no points where it felt like it dragged at all, took the wee man and he’s not much of a movie watcher but he didn’t get bored once

Boy that played Human Torch was decent casting for me

Superman, was decent enough but that review I was on about previously must have been written by someone who had smoked a fat one before going in!

Barbarian

Not 100% sure it’s as good as it reviewed but fairly decent as horror films go. They show you the thing you’re meant to be scared of early though so it kills it for me.

Better Man

Surprised how much I liked this tbf, thought it was class. He’s a prat but hard not to feel sorry for him as well.

The latest Jurassic Park, okay.
And 40 Acres, near future survivalist flick, which was really good, probably better than Sinners. Would recommend.

Nineteen Eighty-four
Finally finished it off, third time of asking over the past week. Kept falling asleep. Didn't realise it was BUrton's last screen appearance, as he dies a couple of months before its release in October, he was 58. Further to my reference to The Hit and Terence Stamp's death, 1984 was the third of three films (The Bounty was the other) I saw in London that October week, as it was literally just released. Anyway, its funny how you forget, well I do, most of what was in the film but in watching it 40-odd yrs later, can still reel off the next words/lines on a few occasions.

AL wearing O'Brien's boiler suit. Apparently it was Burton's idea to use it as his uniform, which he had tailored from Savile Row. Laugh

Saw the new Superman the other day, pretty good fun. Much more enjoyable than the Snyder efforts

I legitimately quite enjoyed this Heh

Also watched I Saw the TV Glow the other day. Not entirely my thing but still an interesting one to think about.

I think it's been watched about 60 times in our household. Fairly undone a lot of the brainwashing I've done with the bairn to ask for Slipknot in the car.

I thought it was pretty deece too at first. Now on what must be the 50th rewatch and the song “Takedown” has been on Alexa genuinely at least 10 times a day Warnock

Managed ten minutes of the Thursday Murder Club. Midsummer with the budget of a small nation.

In the hand of Dante
A solid seven for an interesting film that's also a lot of fun. Looks great, filmed in a silky b&w, and colour. Includes a good few actors you'll recognise, and maybe not. t's long though, 2.5 hrs, and suffers a bit two thirds of the way through when two of the best characters depart but it's certainly a different take on Dante's epic.

I watched Weapons last night, a refreshing take on the horror genre, I’ve seen it getting slaughtered on Reddit for plot holes and and being unbelievable, for me it was a decent effort and rather than just gore
