I think there is now a middle ground where folk are busting a nut for not a huge amount of reward, but just managing to keep it full time. This guy I was reading was apparently a very popular streamer and youtuber (folk posting on the thread knew who he was) and he was having to get ridic amounts of views etc just to make a half decent wage. Definitely no Lamborghini as far as I could tell  I'll maybe try and find the post if I can, as it was really interesting to see the breakdown of how he gets his money from YouTube and Twitch etc.

I think what I was getting at was I doubt there will be many people doing it as a full time job and bringing in an average salary of about 18-20k or whatever.

For a lot of people, it's still a hobby. I think youre right though, it definitely will move that way where there's balanced earnings across the board. I think media platforms like YouTube combined with on demand are going to be the future of how we view video content. We'll probably find that instead of purely relying on advertisement money (which is actually getting pulled back on YouTube at the moment) more and more you tubers will sign to companies like "maker studios" where they're paid a salary but don't get full cuts of what their videos bring in.

It was something like $2 per 1000 views but I believe the youtube gravy train is fucked now because the wall street journal have found racist videos with ads at the start and brands have started pulling out.

Aye that's what I was getting at. It'll just be temporary though, it'll blow over and the big companies will advertise again. It's too many viewers to not work around it.

I think the RBS bit at St Andrews Sq might?  Not the HQ building, the one just to the right hand side of the entrance.  It has a little room with ATMs and maybe some of those deposit envelopes.
