I like the Seethe thread for letting off some steam, but there's not really a place for inane thoughts that don't really deserve an entire thread. So here it is.

Musings is a shite word.

My first one is how the hell do you end up as a supermarket checkout operator when you're over 30? I see that as work for students and invalids.

>30 supermarket checkout operators = criminal record as a teenager

Brian Eno doc on bbc4. Quite a guy. Very good watch.

My initial thoughts were that General Musings was some military cunt. Disappointed.

Broken back and depression are pretty legit reasons like.
Probably more to the story though.
Pretty brutal. Â Someone was telling me that places like McDonald's get a lot of people sifting through their bins and they have to tell them to fuck off.
If I was working in a place like mcdonalds/kfc Id just put the spoiled food in a bag somewhere and hand it to them on the sly to save them sifting through the bins. Â Ridiculous what goes to waste.

"How else could they manage?"
How about not being degenerate cunts and not getting your benefits sanctioned. Expecting others to look after your kids is low anaw.Â

The amount of food that's still perfectly okay to eat that gets thrown out by supermarkets and restaurants is scandalous. Places have to do it due to legal requirements, but it's ridiculous that people are then prosecuted for taking it.

When I worked in Sainsburys I worked at the bakery bit and it turns out the shop makes more money binning the stuff that's going out of date rather than selling it on the cheap. Don't get me wrong I was delighted I wasn't getting surrounded by absolute jakes trying to bag some 10p cakes at 9 o clock but it's a total waste binning it all.

I wondered that myself but we got stopped reducing stuff to below half price because they were losing more by selling them at less than half price than just binning them. My guess is they don't get taxed as much on waste as they would if they sold it. |
