Why is Lafferty being refferred to as "The Duke" on kickback?
07-19-2017, 02:17 PM
That's the best deal they can get from the EPL I imagine. Maybe Mongcaster should put the asking price up.

Does the Scottish highlights get shown UK wide?
Also is that million pound just for the league highlights if so what do we get for the Scottish Cup?

Dongcaster etc should absolutely be telling the BBC to GTF if they are not happy with what they offer financially.
Is there a broadcaster out there willing to pay more for our football highlights/Scottish Cup games?
07-19-2017, 02:36 PM
Unlikely anyone else will pay for highlights i.e. sky seeing as BT Sports already have them so it's about getting the best deal we can for it from BBC as I'm not sure STV have the money to compete

I think it's about trying to play hardball with them instead of just rolling over and getting our collective tummies tickled like we do just now.
The SPFL just take whatever scraps that, BT, Sky & the BBC throw our way and then make our we're lucky to have even that. No fucking wonder when you've got clowns like Doncaster talking the game down instead of up all the time.

It does, but that does not oblige them to spunk the licence fee at stuff that people do not want to watch. That's what I was getting at earlier. Just because we have 1/10 of the population of England, does not mean Scottish football should get 1/10 of what English football gets.

BBC giving us the sair yin, on the cheap. Better together though

We contribute 1/10 of the license fee yet get 1/60th of what England get put into football (it's actually higher than that because that doesn't include the lower leagues in England). Should we be expecting £60 million for our product? Not in the real world, no. Should we be expecting 1/60th of what England gets? Not in the real world, no.

Get Channel 4 to cover the SPFL. They tend to do what's right when it comes to broadcasting.
