^^^ Just after he was released from an Asuncion jail?

Apparently he won an exhiition futsal match where the prize was a mouth-watering suckling pig for their dinner. Monty Chuckle

Really puts everyone to shame the amount of work he's doing outside of football to make people's lives better. Not many folk I'd really class as inspirational but he certainly is.

Unreal what Mbappe has achieved in his career thus far. One of the best players in a World Cup winning side at 19 Joseek

Probably an arrogant wee dick but what world class footballer isn't?

He's probably got himself in to deep now and can't really say no to these things.

Reckon it's not long til the British press decide he needs taken down a peg or two. Expect to see stories about him 'splashing the cash' when he buys his mum a TV or something.

Seems the rumours last year were true. Shame.

It's actually pretty brutal when you really think about it eh Eek I know it's a unique job/shouldn't be looking at social media etc but imagine finishing your graft and reading hundreds of comments telling you how hopeless you are Laugh

Can't imagine how it must feel to have people on the internet tell you you're bad at a sport you're very passionate about tbh

Good point.

It's probably worse for the Hearts players right now as they are expected to absolutely thump whoever we are playing, too.

Win 1-0 against Alloa/insert another diddy team here and you go home thinking '3 points in the bag, onto the next one' and then you go online and see clowns like Frank Underwood fuming you didn't win 8-0 Laugh

Fans would have these opinions regardless, the only difference nowadays is social media allows them to be all filed under one comment list. I don't know why they bother reading the comments though. Those who hate things will make far more noise than those who like. It's a lose lose situation.

I find it cringey when a footballer who has just signed says 'I got lots of nice messages'. Have they literally sat and read every comment/tweet about them? What a way to live life. They need to realise they become public figures so can't enjoy the social media benefits the less interesting people have.

Before social media, we couldn't contact footballers directly like that. They weren't putting their personal phone number out there to get feedback for a reason! Baffles me why social media should be thought of as any different.

Human nature innit.

If there was a thread on here titled 'rojo is a fanny' you'd probably read it.

I'd happily be paid thousands of pounds a week to come off Twitter and insta and kick a ball about.

These guys love it too much though. Just come off social media until you are retired but I doubt they'd be able to punt Herbalife and clothing brands doing that.

The people who chase footballers about to abuse them online are losers anyway. Better to do it on football fora, amirite

Social media is an addiction, its designed perfectly to be addictive so that people don't stop using it regardless of how angry and depressed it makes them. You can't 'just come off it' once you're in there. Not sure it's the way forward to say it's the people receiving the abuse who should make changes to their life to avoid it. I mean ideally no one would use things like twitter and insta as they are literally poison but we are where we are.
