I miss your train adventures. Sob

They used to make mine seem trivial by comparison. Warnock

But as Walt said, on the days that I used the trains to go to work, they were constantly late, overcrowded and overpriced.

It works out cheaper for me to just drive into town and pay for parking than it does to use the train, so it's a no brainer for me.

There's going to be lots of shit like this where the average member of the public starts to notice a lot of changes to their routines/life in general while we still allow drilling in the North Sea and companies like amazon etc operating here with their massive carbon footprint.

I'm not adverse to change but it's all for nothing if it doesn't change at the top, this is something that won't help a lot in the grand scheme of things but will piss loads of folk of if they need to start paying to park at their work.

Got a great train network here, but the subway, trains and buses are all separate networks. Train still the best option, £2.80 return for me. But sometimes get dropped off by the wife at the subway on way into work, if I then get a train home it's still pricey as you're paying for a subway single then a return train ticket. Daft. Should all be one oyster type card and work off one pricing system.

If I miss the last train, I have to either a) get a 20 quid + taxi, or b) gamble that the bus I get doesn't dump me off in the middle of the Easterhouse scheme, leaving me an approx hour walk home through some of the toughest bits of the country. It's all a good laugh isn't it Levein

Fair enough laughing at my train woes but the rail network must make a lot of people proper miserable. Can easily ruin your day or evening. Being late to work 3 times a week due to cancelled services is unprofessional anaw. Considering how much it costs it's a scandal.

Continue to work journey in comfort on Lothian. Door to door, every 10 minutes, only takes about 40 minutes from Boomtown to Princes street

Trumppy

Free wifi, quiet service so never need to sit next to anyone, wee tap on the debit card, no need for cash

Hung

They've invested loads in an entire new fleet of buses anaw, some futuristic comfy cruising beast

Drove to the bottom Pans this afternoon; walked to Port Seton harbour and back. If they banned cars fuck if I'd have done that or something similar on the #26. Fart Smelly

My work journey consists of me jumping in my car, parking it 15 minutes later and walking in to the lions den.

Fuck buses, trains and everything in between.

It's peak neoliberalism to tackle the climate crisis by making individuals pay for parking while leaving big businesses untouched. Bonus points for ostensibly charging companies, but then giving them the option of passing the cost onto their employees as though some of them might not do it.

This is about current infrastructure not being able to cope with more and more people working in inner city areas that aren't getting any bigger. They want more people car sharing and on public transport. If they are framing it as tackling climate change then it's bullshit.

Chances are companies will just get rid of their parking spaces to avoid the fees and nearby residential areas will become far more congested with non locals parking. Take Leith for example, basically used as a car park by out of towners who work in the city centre during the day.

Thats the same for me at Meadowbank. The Council are soon to widening where the permit zones are though, so that might ease that pressure.

Britain's worst ever peedo :begbie: has been stabbed to death in prison. He was serving 22 life sentences for abusing children in Cambodia. Can only imagine how horrific his crimes were to get that sort of sentence. Monty LewLew
