I'm starting to believe Wow

It's not just the results. The way we are playing is so good to see and we are absolutely ruthless. The kids who were a bit rough around the edges last year are now powerful, efficient winners. The players we have brought in are a level above what we had.

Celtic and Aberdeen are showing very good consistency as well but will drop points. If we can keep destroying weaker teams consistently it can be done.

Can we do it?

We need to be consistent in beating the dross and pickup some points against Celtic/Aberdeen. Really looking for Celtic and Aberdeen to cancel each other out and we capitalise every time.

It can be done.

Our fixtures are very kind for a tilt at the title. If we're still unbeaten by the double header next month then you'd have to hope for a challenge.

I just can't see us trading blows with Celtic week by week. Let's see how long we can stand toe to toe with them though.

No.

It's all going to come down to how Robbie deals with us losing the first game and then how they bounce back...

That said though, they are playing extremely well, and look the "real deal" when you see them.

If we win our next two against Hamilton and Inverness that Aberdeen game will be our first big test, and they hate coming to Tynie as well. That'll be the game where we find out if we can win the league.

The way we're playing now, I don't see why not.

No.

Celtic will prove too consistent over the course of a whole season.

We should finish 2nd or 3rd though and we have an outstanding chance for a cup win.

We don't have any right to when you consider the difference in budgets. That said I think it's possible

I think the games against both Celtic and Aberdeen will be cagey, draws in those games would be very good results, need to concentrate in beating the rest of the shite

We've got a brilliant record against Aberdeen. They never turn up at Tynecastle so not too worried about that.

Need to take something from the Celtic games. That's where Aberdeen failed last season.

Levein reckons it's a possibility that another player may come in.

Imagine if that player was Stevie May or some proper dece foreign boy again.

We just need to keep beating diddy after diddy. I've said it on a few threads, we can't plan for nxt season as all the decent players will be away.

This is our time. Budgie should release a bit of funds and go for it.

Easy to forget just how close Aberdeen were for such a long time, you're right to point out it was the games between them that were the difference. They ended up miles behind, but that includes the run at the end of the season where they'd chucked it and didn't win for the last month.

Other than defeats to Celtic and that run, they hardly dropped points. This is a league where you can go on a run of wins if you have a winning mentality and quality players. We have both.

I don't think we can win it, and unfortunately I think the team will be broken up before we are ready (or IMO we would eventually do it), but we can certainly push them if we keep this level up. That was like a championship game yesterday, we just bullied them and brushed them aside like they were nothing - very impressive.

Juanma said something in a Spanish interview that really made me realise that there is serious chance we could win the league.

He likened us to Simeone's Atletico team who won the league a couple of years ago. We're very industrious, and are willing to battle for every single ball.

If we keep taking it a game at a time, there's no reason why we can't mount a serious challenge, but again, it all comes down to the games against Aberdeen and Celtic.

Ideally, we need Celtic to beat Aberdeen in two weeks time, and us to beat Aberdeen. That would leave us top of the league by two points - if we beat both Inverness and Hamilton - going into the game at Celtic Park. If we get a draw then it's on.

I'm now confident we can finish 2nd.

I'm yet to be convinced we can take on the pigs.

I was thinking last night that, other than Aberdeen and Celtic, there are no teams in this league against whom this Hearts team should not be 100% confident of beating, home or away.

Celtic will win the league, surely. They will probably take twelve points off us. That said, there's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't finish second or third, with clear daylight down to the also-rans.

What a time to be alive. juanmayay

I dont think we can win it tbh. We can definitely finish 2nd not too far back behind though. Like less then 10 points behind. If we were to have any chance we need everyone fit for every game. Just imagine Oshinawa gets injured and we are back to McHattie at left back? Doesnt bear thinking about

Talk about the team being broken up too, aye it will happen, but so long as we dont do a Hibs and sell our 3 or 4 young stars between Celtic and Rangers. Its difficult though, sometimes they are the only buyer

We can't win it as Celtic over the course will pick up more points, if we are even looking to be close, the sfa will step in like New Year's Day 2006.

We can definitely win the Cup though. Hopefully avoid Celtic, hopefully someone else can put them out in a shock result fairly early. We can smash everyone else. That said, that Beattie semi final remains my favourite Hearts moment
